Hello ,

I have a 2009 Golf city with two cooling fans, one of the fan had power steering hose rubbing on it and overheated the fan and wires are also burnt and grounding. This blew up the fuse. I have removed that fan for now and cut the wiring harness which powered that.My question is will the car run on just one fan until I replace the burnt wire and the fan assembly.will the car function for few days on the second fan only.I was going to separate the burnt wires at the end and tape them.would this allow me the car use for few days until fixed.

It sounds like the main fan is what was damaged. You need to check if this fan is run by a thermal switch plugged into the radiator. If so the second fan is not a cooling fan, it is run for the AC, and over heat conditions, it will only kick on when the AC is on or the car is over heating. If you do find your car still uses the thermal switch system I would not suggest driving without the main fan functional. Hope this helps.
