I've been getting bounced around a bit trying to research which replacement carb to get for my 71 superbeetle. It is a stock 1600 dual port with a 009 distributor and stock generator.
Is there one that is preferable for this setup?

Thanks,
MD

34 pict3 would be the correct carb for a dual port engine. German rebuilt or Brazillian (Bocar) new would be my choices.

If you go with the Brazilian made Bocar carburetor, I would advise you to check the float to see if it's made of a resin coated foam. The Ethanol added to the pump fuel, will eat the coating off the float and cause some major running problems by the float not being able to control the fuel flow properly. I have used the plastic float from a German Solex to solve that problem.
