Every once and a while my car will not start the first time i try. It hesitates and acts like it isn't getting enough power. I did a volt check... 12.25V while off, drops to 9V while starting and sits around 14V while running, then back down to 12.25V while off. This is when the car is starting normally which is still most of the time. I haven't been able to get a check when the problem occurs though.

Any ideas???

Hello

Have you taken your battery out and load-tested it? Many auto parts stores will do this for free.

Hi JerVan,

I got the same problem last month with my Jetta Mk4 (2003).
My car used to start slowly, so I perform a Test because some people told me it could be the Alternator... The power generation was below when testing it; but before replacing the Alternator I went to "PriceSmart" asking the guys from the "Battery Center" to apply a quick test with their device.
They discover that the Battery was bad.

Fortunatelly I just changed the battery and the problem was solved!

I think you should go to a local "Battery Center" and ask similar Test the way I did.
