Hi guys,
I have an problem with my 1.8t manual. It starts easily and dies instantly.
It will repeat this process for sometimes 8 to 10 tries before it continues to run, whereby it idles happily and drives without issue.
For some reason it does this the most when friends are waving me goodbye, so we all sit in total embarrassment while I attempt to start the car!
I have noticed occasionally that the immobilizer warning light is flashing while I am driving. I thought a flashing immobilizer light would mean immobilized..no power..no drive.
I have tried using different ignition keys to see if the start issue is linked to the immobilizer .

any clues would be appreciated thanks

This is a cable from the startkey to the immobilizer which is a bit loose. Typical A4 problem. Try to thighten the fastening of the cable or exchange it for a new one. Pardon my bad english.
