Section 15-74 is supposed to be about removing and installing the IMS bearing. However, no procedure is provided on how to actually remove the bearing. It simply says to "remove the snap ring" then goes straight into "use tools from a reputable manufacturer to replace IMS bearing."

It completely misses the procedure required to extract the old bearing.......a VERY critical piece of the process.

An aftermarket bearing extraction tool is shown in the procedure on p.15-74. In terms of using the special aftermarket tools for removing and installing the IMS bearing, the tool maker normally provides this information. This procedure is not a Porsche procedure and non-factory tools and parts tools are subject to change, if that makes sense.
