I just measured the impedance of the injectors in my 2006 Passat 2.0T (BPY), and every one of them measured between 1.5 and 1.7 Ohms. The Bentley manual says replace if not between 12.0 and 20.0 Ohms. I bought the car with 84K miles, so who knows if they are original. I don't have the part number handy, unfortunately. They are VW/Audi labelled, though. Could this have been a tech service update, and Bentley simply has old data? Should I have Low Impedance injectors? I am a bit concerned... My VIN: WVWEK73C46P166973
The cheapest I can find OEM injectors is at vwpartscenter.net at a cost of $80.75 each. Aftermarket injectors from Auto Zone and Advance Auto are actually more expensive than genuin VW ones. Go figure...
I have a feeling I should simply order and replace the injectors, as these forums are not frequented.
I was getting error codes P0300, 303 and 304. As it turns out, I had the harness swapped on 3 and 4 on reasembly.
A little background... When I bought the car, it had a broken timing chain and tensioner. Got all that straightened out, but now I recall the owner saying it was running poorly before the chain ever broke. Looking at the impedance of the injectors tells me what might have been going wrong. If these are indeed the cause of the poor performance, they could also have contributed to the timing chain brake.
