Good Afternoon...I purchased the Bentley Publishing Repair Manual for my 94 C280. I normally do not have any issues that I can not repair especially after getting a great repair manual BUT...this problem still alludes me.

My dash cluster works fine EXCEPT 3 of the 4 needles no longer work...my gas gauge, MPH, and RPM's no longer work..my temp gauge and all other lights including illumination works correctly...Any and All ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Same thing happened to my 94-model C180. The "needles" of the gauges tend to stick to that little pin at the "0" end of each of the gauges (if you look closely, you will notice a black resin-like substance exactly at the point of contact). So all you need to do is pull out the instrument panel, open it up and take the front housing off. Gently clean the black gunk off each of the needles and each of the pins with a light cloth or paper towel, embedded in methylated spirits, taking care not to bend or force the needles in the process. Put everything back together again, and you should be good to go.
