I can't seem to find a manual for my car. Haynes only goes up to 2005 and your manual is only on DVD which is only supported on Windows 2000 and XP, nothing current like Windows 7. I need a manual for my car. Where can I get one? Do I need to get rid of the car to find a car that has a readily available manual?

Go to https://erwin.vw.com/erwin/showHome.do and create a free user profile (name & password).

Enter your VIN# in the search menu (vehicle identification search)

Pay the 24 hr subscription ($35) and download everything that applies to your car.... engine manual, chassis, electrical, wiring, transmission, HVAC,etc.

Forgot to mention... the Erwin site is the same info that is on the DVD, except that Bentley packaged the info in a user friendly software, compared to the Erwin PDF files.

Virtual PC 2007 will install on Win7 basic versions, so there is no need to upgrade to Win7 Professional to get XP Mode. All you need is an XP installation Disc or ISO.

$35 for 24hr access is cheap when you consider the fact that you can download all VW Platform Service Manuals within that time.... provided you have no prior commitments for that period.

Any luck with the site?

Here's a 3 page PDF sample from the 337 page BPY Engine Mechanical, Fuel Injection and Ignition "Repair Manual".
