I need if possible a diagram of how to re-set my onboard computer after replacing the battery in my 325E ( 1987) 2.7litre. The dashboard service display is showing 2 lights on the far right, red and yellow? The car had been sitting for 6 weeks and the battery ( 5 years old) was flat when i returned and would not hold a charge so I replaced it with a new one.
The mechanics are saying to me that they cannot re-set the onboard computer ! This has never been an issue before .
One mechanic suggested the dash has to be removed and batteries replaced in the dashboard somewhere ?
If someone could help me out here i would appreciate it.
I have the Bentley Publishers Service manual 1984-1990.
Thankyou

What I would do is remove the cluster, remove the batteries and the light bar and put it back together.
The red/yellow light will out a drain on the main battery
