threads seem to be fine (ie. not stripped at all), if fact, you can torque the oil plug very much when tightening. however, it leaks (small drip) and i've replaced the washer/gasket with each oil change. car has 260,000 miles on it. any suggestions?

I would consider getting a new plug, or a few wraps at the shoulder end with a heavy-duty teflon tape.

with the oil plugg. M12/½.
Make me a new oilplugg from a standard M12½ bolt and clean the treads in the oilpan who seems OK.
I buy a new oilplug to next oilchange proberly the cheapest part that i have buy from the local BMW dealer.
