Porsche 986 Tiptronic transmission removal

Tiptronic transmission removal

The Bentley Publishers Boxster Service Manual shows Porshe tool # 9596 which covers the starter opening with holes for removing bolts during removal of the Tiptronic transmission. I cannot find the tool on the internet. It looks like a simple plate cover with holes in it. What is the purpose of this tool and can I remove the bolts without that tool in place?

That is to hold the torque converter in place when removing the bolts. I haven't done one in a long time but I never used that tool. I held it somehow, but I forget how
