1989 325is. I just added the performance intake heat shield/cone filter from Signature Motoring. If anyone is considering this, I highly recommend it. The best $150 I ever spent. Aside from the power gain which is most noticeable open bore, the induction sound is out of this world at higher RPM, but sounds pretty much stock at low to mid engine speeds.

I've been looking into performance chips. Anyone have any recommendations? Many people have said that those $35 chips on ebay are exact software copies of $250 name-brand chips. True? Anyone dealt with a particular seller they can vouch for?

Must be really good. I think I saw your comment on e30 tech also. You got me interested. I too am interested in a chip for my 325i but especially for my 750il. Did you get one yet or has anyone else had experience with chips?
