I have 97 passat glx I swapped motors and put a OBD 1 motor in. I used all my old parts from my OBD 2 motor including all sensors, the only thing from the OBD 1 motor that was left on was the injectors and lower intake. My car was sitting for about 9 months and I think my gas went bad that was left in it, the motor mechanically sounds good when it runs rough it seems like a sensor, cat or maybe its the gas because the motor runs rough and i get engine codes P1582, P0137 and P0141. There CEL wasnt on when my OBD 2 went bad, im just looking for suggestions.

p1582 is an idle code... if the idle is too low, clean the throttle body and run the adaptation (if the throttle is motorized). If you have an idle stabilizer, don't worry about cleaning the throttle.

You have an o2 heater circuit code, no heater operation = no or lazy o2 output.... which is your other code.

Check/verify power to o2 heater circuit, if good, replace o2 sensor.

I finally figured out the problem, it was the entire fuel rail was rusted out and some injectors must have not been getting fuel or enough fuel to work so i removed lower intake and injectors from my old OBD2 and now engine runs like new and no CEL.
