I've heard it is possible to program the power door locks so that they automatically unlock when the key is removed from the ignition. Does anyone know how to do this on a 2006 Jetta 2.5 (manual trans, no multifunction display)?

Options for door lock functions and other items in the comfort module can be programmed via factory scan tool (VAS 5051) which your local dealer will have.

Thanks Dubtech. Can the door lock programming be done with a VAG-COM?

Should be possible, provided the correct version of Vag-Com & cable are used.

A sample how-to PDF for an A5 Golf is attached... found through a quick web search (may or may not be similar for the Jetta).
