I've got a 1988 80 QuattroI, and was changing my right headlight bulb. No problems there. I started the car several times to check that the headlight worked properly. No problems. Several hours later, I went to leave, stuck the key into the ignition, and could not turn it at all. Think the steering wheel lock might be the cause, i expected the steering wheel to be "loaded" to one side. The steerign wheel was locked, but there was no tension, and you could move it side to side, a small bit maybe 1/4-1/2 inch. Doing this did not affect the key in the ignition, besides moving the ignition assembly a tiny bit in the dash. Anyone have any ideas about this? I'm going to have to call a tow truck otherwise, cause i can't get it started to drive to a shop.
