Hello, please help, I am all out of options on what to fix next on my vehicle as I have taken it to several shops and they are all telling me to change something different from one another. I hate to spend money on something that does not fix the issue. There's a lot of I think without any assurance. I've been pulling P2096 Post Calayst Fuel Trim Too Lean Bank 1 code for some time now. I believe the BMW code is 225. The car runs fine, although it is pulling P2096 code. I have already replaced both pre and post Oxygen Sensors. I have replaced the Camshaft Exhaust Sensor and still pulling the code. One shop told me to change the fuel injectors and another shop has told me to change the calaystic convertor. Another has told me to change the MAF sensor and so forth. Please help. There was a similar thread on the similar symptoms I have been expereincing but the thread was not so clear on what the person changed in order to fix the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. What should be fixed in order to resolve this check engine light code of P2096?

Since it is a post sensor code, I would focus on the cat or the post sensor. Check for leaks. Try looking at the rear sensor voltage signal, as well as fuel trim numbers. Could also be an early warning that the cat is failing.

Thank you for the response. I have checked the vehicle for leaks. One of the shops I took it to ran a smoke test for any leaks and they stated no leaks were found. Also, they checked to see if I needed a DME update and that was not necessary. As for the sensor voltage signal, I was told that the sensors are reading the output correctly as it falls within the range. I think 0.1 to 0.8?? I'm not sure. Also for your reference, I have replaced the pre and post oxygen sensors twice just in case that the first time around I had a defective part. Does the fuel injector make any sense to you? If I had a fuel injector issue, wouldn't I be experiencing some hestiations or lost in power with my vehicle when on the move? If your thought is on the cat convertor, is it a easy fix and some what reasonable price to replace? I do see why your conclusion and one of the shops I took it to states I may have a faulty cat convertor as it says post calayst and I have already replaced the oxygen sensors, both pre and post. Any thoughts? Thank you once again.

I forgot to mention, I am also getting P1092 code (Pre-Catalyst Fuel Trim Too Lean Bank 2) once in awhile. Not so much as P2096. P1092 comes I say about 10% of the time. Could it still be the cat?
