Will be replacing timing belt and waterpump in the next few weeks...the Bentley lists several special tools that I don't have...how necessary are they? I've owned several Audi's in the past, including a '91 200 20v which I replaced the Tbelt on with no special tools. Do I need to buy or rent them for this job, or do they just make it easier? Input would be great.

Easier, but not necessary.

actually did the job yesterday...didn't need the tools at all. I just used a prybar wedged between the intercooler crossover pipe and the oil pan to hold up the rad. the rest was cake.
