02 Jetta losing power at freeway speed

Greetings,

My 02 Jetta will just lose power...as in no gas is being delivered...while driving on the freeway. This has never happened around town or at speeds less than 65 or more. It only lasts for 2 to 3 seconds and then it's as if power is restored.

Any ideas what could be causing this? It's pretty intermittent - happens randomly.

Post the vin #, engine size, transmission, mileage etc.

My 90 Carat did that same thing.

Replace that in tank fuel lift pump.

I would agree that this sounds like the in-tank pump.
I would also recommend that you post on the forum for 2002 Jetta's, as there are likely to be more folks over there who know your car. That will increase your chances of getting a good answer!
