First make sure you got the power to the bulb sockets and ground signal should be good as well.

i checked the lines that it has. it is the grey one that goes in the connector board. i put new bulbs and when you hit the brakes it lights up but just when you turn on the lights it wont. on the passengers side there is ground and power when you put a bulb in. but the other side has no power. just when you hit the brakes only. where does that grey wire lead to.

With no disrespect there is something confusing in your story,
"when you hit the brake it lights up"
What's lights up???? if you hit the brakes then only brake light should lights up not the parking light.
Are you using double filament lights bulb?

I believe he means when he hits the brake pedal the brake light turns on ok. However the tail light is out. This is the same issue as I have. Just waiting to borrow a multi meter to check for power / ground.
This is or should be a double filament bulb.
Thanks Bresha

Depends on model year and design of the tail light assembly, easy to determine just by looking the light bulb sockets, socket for double light bulb filament has a two metal wings connection on the bottom.

Check Fuse 22/23:
How embarrasing, for me. It was fuse 22 or 23, can't recall exactly which. The fuse guide on the back of the plastic cover it wrong I think. Check that. It's an orange fuse in any case not a red one which I am sure the guide told me it was. Sigh. Glad it's fixed.

The specialist said, before we found the fuse, that it may have been the bulb checker (something like that). Can't see much about that or anything like that in the Bentley. Maybe it's part of the lighting harness. Someone else said something about a dry solder at some part of the circuit. Connector block perhaps. Sorry to be a bit vague it's been a few weeks, and many beers later, since I was looking into this ......
