in my 87 L7 the fuel and coolant gauge go all the way to max when the key is on, anyone know what could be causing this? anything recommended to check?

Sounds like a short to ground behind the dash. You'll need to study the wiring diagrams.

thanks for the reply, ill be replacing the dash anyways this month since its in ROUGH shape, ill check the grounds. there was also a small fire in the engine bay near the drivers side right behind the instrument cluster so that would make sense about the short.
