Engine Mechanical problem
1982 BMW 528 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 163000 miles
i have an 82 528e that stalls when getting up to operating temp, then will not restart. i can hold down the key and hit the gas and the car will turn over but will not stay running. if i let it sit for about 10-15 mins it will restart only to have the same problem. have replaced coil,wires, plugs dist. cap, rotor, and cold start switch. also i have checked fuel pressure and ground and AFM. also have ruled out TPS. i was thinking either reference sensor or may ECU is that a possiblity?

reference sensor, speed sensor, ecu or even the main relay can cause stalling. get a book and a scope and check the sensors, get a dvom and check for power and grounds at the ecu and relay. good luck, chuck.
