MMI not responding correctly

Hi guys,

Have a problem my brother A8 mmi is not working correctly need some info , the car button is not responding on the mmi. all the other switches are working but that one, what can be the cause. He by accident spilled some gator aid over the switch and gunk them up, I carefully clean them with electrical switch and lube cleaner all the other buttons still worked except the car button. Before I order a new one Is there any suggestions?
