1986 911 Carrera Radio Fader Switch Circuit Diagram

I recently acquied this car, and it has the stock Blaupunkt Monterey cassette deck with a fader switch in the console. It is a stereo radio, with only two channels coming out of it. I've attached a modern four channel unit, and at this point, only have the front speakers, two channels going into the fader, with which it powers all four speakers - poorly. I'd like to connect the new stereo to all four speakers, using the fader in the unit, but cannot find where the wires to the speakers are! I pulled the fader unit, but there are only six wires coming out, not eight, and they are all brown. Checking the front speaker wires at the speakers, they are red/brn and brn, and the rears are brn/wht, brn, none of which correspond to the fader's output. I've checked my Bentley Carrera manual on this, and it has two sets of diagrams stereos, none of which are of any help.
Can you help? I'd rather not go through the nightmare of running all new wires to everything, so if if can find where they eminate from up front, life would be good! Thanks in advance for your help!!

Here is what I did for our '86.
In order to delete the console balance/fader, and use the radio controls:
1. Using a 1 1/2 volt battery I determined continuity/location of the Porsche speaker harness to the front and rear speakers.
These wires are behind the console, and tucked into the carpeting.
When you touch the speaker wires to the battery, you will hear a "popping" sound.
2. Our radio is a Blaupunkt Aspen with the companion CD player (IDCA09).
3. If you are connecting the radio only, the speaker connections should be included in the radio instruction.
I not, contact any radio shop, or Blaupunkt for wire color code info.
This should be an easy fix......

Thanks, Gerry,
I'm sure you meant well by this seemingly simple advice, but it's really useless, as a practical matter. Once I took apart the console, (hours of discovery and reassembly) and found the harness, yes, its behind the console, tucked into the carpeting. I found that the nearest thing to possible speaker wires consisted of about 12 wires, all brown, with no discerning different colors. That meant I would have had to cut every single one of them, and start with one wire with your battery idea and touch it to every single other one, until I heard that pop, then repeat, etc, etc. And end up will all sorts of cut wires in the process.
Here is the reality of it, and the truly easy fix.
Just pull the carpets on the passenger side, and along the tunnel, you'll find two or three shrink wrapped black enclosures running toward the back of the car. Just strip about an inch or so off each one, until you find the one with four brown wires in it, and those are the two pairs going back to the speakers. Turn the radio on, and then cut one of the wires, and listen to see which of the rear speakers stops - bingo, there's one - label it with tape L or R. You're going to have to cut these four wires to splice them anyway, so no biggie. I then put a butt connector on that to temporarily reconnect that wire, uncrimped, then cut another wire, marking accordingly which speaker went out, and so on, until I had all four labelled. That only took a few minutes. Then, it was easy to splice speaker wires from them, up to the radio above - or to an amp, which would probably be under the passenger seat anyway, if you were wiring one up.
For the front speakers, just remove the carpeted kick panels on each side, and you'll easily see the wires going to the door speakers, and they'll have a plug-in connector which goes to that harness. I just spliced speaker wires from each one of these up to the radio, and there you go.
I left the fader switch in the console, rather than trying to find a plug for it, why bother?
In his way, you can find and connect all the wires in an hour or so.
Simple, and very clean.
The radio wiring was simple. One thing to note, though, in case you didn't catch this, is that there is a wire you'll see attached to the antenna cable, which is a power lead to the antenna amplifier which amplifies the small single from the windshield antenna wire. This should be connected to the power lead from the radio that would otherwise go to an electric antenna. If you don't do this, your radio reception will be terrible.
And there it is,
Vince

Cutting live amplifier wires is a great way to smoke output transistors...............
