we bought a new Rabbit in the summer of 2007 , in the cold season the shifting from the 1st gear to the 2nd is pretty rough when the engine is cold , i went to the dealer and they said that its nothing wrong with it , lately is doing that even when is not that cold , just wandering if anybody had the same problem , any solutions?

Nah, mine jams sometimes from 2-3, and i can feel a rough spot through the pedal when i let it coast, but not present in acceleration. i have a Neuspeed short shift lever on it, but the problem existed a couple weeks after i bought the car.
