I have a 1984 Audi Coupe GT, which apparently has some weird stuff on it. The intake manifold appears to be from a 1978-1983 5000, as well as its accompanying parts, though the FI system is the CIS style with O2 sensor. It has no altitude sensor, or separate pressure regulator, the one it has is built into the fuel distributor. It has a fuel dampener instead. It has a frequency valve, ac cut out switch, though the ac doesn't work. It also has the standard cold start system, which works fine. My problem is that it runs rough when starting, and frequently stalls once or twice (without assistance from the gas pedal) before the engine will come up to speed. Once it is warm it runs fine, though it surges a bit at idle. I have tried a great deal of things, to the best of my ability according to the Bentley's manual. I did notice the vacuum reading of 10" HG at idle seems quite low, though very steady. Is my system simply running lean? Could I possibly have something stuck solid in the fuel delivery system? Vacuum leak? Any help would be fantastic. Thanks, Josh
I have no pressure tester for this car. It's an automatic.
