The Sirius Satellite radio in my '08 Wabbit suddenly quit, says "no Sat Radio" Sirius says the dealer needs to do a "hard reset." I called the dealer to find out if that meant simply disconnecting the battery for 30 sec or so. The service advisor told me that if I disconnect the battery the car might not start after I reconnect it, because too many things will need to be "reconfigured." I smell BS. Is it OK to disconnect the battery for a minute without the car losing its ability to run?

In my experience, providing there has been no electrical or electronic equipment change in the vehicle, all should be well. If you have an owner's manual it should warn you if there is an issue in disconnecting the battery. Smells a little like BS to me too. As regards the hard reset for the radio, you ought to be able to get a detailed explanation of what they want to do for you before you commit yourself to their workshop charges. There are detailed procedures laid down for the dealer to follow.
Let us know how you get on.

P.S. please note that I said all should be well and not all will be well . . . . (smile)

Look at your engine compartment fuse panel, Drivers side near the firewall. Look at fuse F21 and make sure that it is not blown. If that is not the case look under the passenger side trunk liner (possibly the drivers side) there you will see the sirius tuner that is most likley faulty.
