One of the fuel diagrams in the manual, page 2-11(picture number 41144) does not agree with the diagram in 2-12 and 2-13.
Specifically the Refuel Check Valve is differently represented on page 2-11 than the other two diagrams.

Which is the correct representation, especially since the pictures are courtesy of Toyota. I think the diagram on 2-11 would make more sense as the loop the Refuel Check Valve in the other two makes no sense to me.

All 3 graphics are only representations of the Prius Evap system used for training / informing. Depending on what part of the system they are describing there will be small differences in appearance, however they all show the proper flow of fuel and fuel vapors.

I attched a photo of the phyisical location of the valve. Is there a fault / problem with the vehicle you are working through?

Nick,
Thanks for the response. No, I don't have a problem. I was trying to figure out a few things, like how would fuel get into the charcoal canister if by chance it was overfilled.
In the diagram on page 2-11, it would have to go through the Refuel Check Valve. Then, it would be good to know under what condition would that check valve allow fuel, not vapor to enter the charcoal canister. If that check valve is closed, fuel would just get to the tank with the fuel level sensor and no big deal.
The other two pages, 2-12, 2-13, that check valve doesn't seem to me to have a real function. thanks

Thanks for that attachement. What is that second white canister just to the right and lower of the Refuel Check Valve?

The other valve is the fuel cut-off valve. I also attached a better photos of it.

Thanks, that is a good perspective as well.
So, my thinking is that the only way to get raw fuel into the charcoal canister is if the fuel backs up in the filler tube all the way to the opening and up into those holes that are on the top at the neck and the fuel cut off valve is open, if that can be shut on or off in the first place. That is force-feeding the fuel into those top openings. How close am I on this?

I would say you are pretty close. Normally there is no raw fuel in the area of the vapors due to the bladder style tank.

You would have to force fuel into the lines you mentioned.
