Rebuild info for 5 speed manual E32 transmission

My Bentley manual for the E32 does not have information on transmission overhaul for the Getrag 260 manual gearbox. I understand the E28 manuals have overhaul information for the Getrag 260.

Is there an update to the E32 manual with this information, or does anyone know where to get instructions on disassembling this gearbox?

Hi Robert,

Is your car a US version. Only about 250 of these cars in the states, I thought. I can send you a pdf of the G260 trans. rebuild. Have you considered buying a used box? Internal parts can be very expensive. Please send me your email address.

Yes, it is the rare US spec 5 speed car. I have been shopping for a used getrag 260/6, but they seem to be hard to find and somewhat expensive ($650-$1,400).

Get Rags are a PIA to rebuild, even with the right tools!

Sorry to bump and old post, but I really need a stripdown manual for a getrag 260 transmission and also a parts catalogue for part numbrs if anyone has?

heres what you need to do, go to http://www.bmwtechinfo.com
sign up for the daily subscription
select manuals prior to E36 and all automobiles since 1985 manual trans and you will see the listing for your trans

Nobody got a pdf floating around, unless its an online viewer, someone must have a saved copy?
