If you want technical instruction then you ought to buy a manual first - http://www.bentleypublishers.com/product.htm?code=AYD31

If you want to change the brakes, you will have to have a cable from Ross Tech and a laptop computer to run the motor to open up the brakes for servicing.
Go to: http://ross-tech.com/ and check them out.

Otherwise, you will have to go to the dealer and this will cost you at least twice the cost of getting the cable and program (program is included with the cable!).

I bought the cable and with my laptop I can diagnose most anything as well as change the brakes!

you don't have to go to the dealer, several shops are available that actually use Vag-Com and would specialize in changing the brakes on your Audi. I would call local shops and check with the BBB.

I am not familiar with the A8 rear brakes, but I am convinced there is an easier way to get the rear brakes changed than purchasing any cables, a laptop, software etc. or feed a dealer.

What about disconnecting the motor for the electric parking brake on each corner, fabricating a wiring harness with cable shoes and releasing the brake by reversing the polarity with a external 12V battery?

Just a thought...

not advised considering you need to put the new pads on, run the calipers back down, measure the new pads thickness and "adapt" the new pads with the caliper to get the brake wear light to turn off. Jerry-rigging an A8 should never be advised, if you have the money to drive an A8, invest in the proper tools and software if you plan on doing repairs yourself.
