iPod connection to Q7

Has anyone purchased a new 6th generation iPod Classic, only to find that the MMI system in their Q7 will not operate with the iPod installed using ice>Link Gateway500. The iPod connects to the Audi, but the MMI does not recognise this model of iPod? What other options do we have? Can the MMI be upgraded? Should we connect using 3.5mm jack plug and will this give us control using MMI buttons etc?

Is that the connection of the MOST bus is correct and dip switch in the control unit link 500 has been switch on?please check.
