2006 Passat brake pad wear sensor harness damage

I had developed a brake squeak on my 2006 Passat. I knew the pad thickness was ok but I took them out to clean the backs of the pads. The mistake I made was forgetting to disconnect the brake pad wear sensor wiring at the LF wheel. I damaged the end that is part of the main harness going into the fender well. The wire end on the brake pad side is OK. I made a temporary repair but I don't want to leave it that way. I was wondering if there was a repair kit for that end of the harness. My dealership did not seem to know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See attached image... #20 is the complete harness, the harness
has a production split. I gather you are looking for one
of the parts in the red circle (ABS speed sensor plug or
pad wear plug).

Hi Thomas: Thanks for replying: The plug that connects to the brake pad wear sensor is what I damaged. I saw that there are multiple items on the single harness. Do they offer some type of repair kit for that particluar plug end ?? Thanks again for all your help.

I don't know about repair kits, sorry... this might be enough
info for you to take to the dealer to get further help.

This is a bit late for you, but for what it's worth, I had purchased a new '08 passat which had been sitting around the lot for a while. The front rotors had warped, and so under warranty the dealer replaced the pads and rotors.

This fixed the rumbling problem, but then I started to get the yellow brake pad wear indicator light coming on intermittently. The dealership traced the light to the LF wiring harness, which had been damaged by the mechanic who replaced the pads/rotors. So don't feel so bad that you messed up - so did the dealer's mechanic.

Replacement of the broken connector was done as a splice-in. The entire harness was not replaced. I'm surprised the dealer had no knowledge of it
