Hey,

I'm new to the forum, working on a 85 535i. My first car to tinker with, so there's a big learning curve. All is going well though.

I want to replace the cold start valve, but I can't seem to get my wrenches and/or sockets sets around the nut because the shaft of the valve is so close to the nut....not to mention if I could "grab" it, there's not much room to work because of where it sits in the block. Is there a special tool to use?

Thanks,
TC

with proper sized open end wrench use a grinding wheel to reduce the exterior size of the wrench, small and narrow. the bolt is not very tight and should turn. min. pressure should do it. I did mine, no problem, small turns.
