mmm...you are better off getting a used VR6 and throwing it in. Get whatever tools you need, and just take your time with it. Because specialist, or dealer both expensive, I charge 75$ an hour maybe the dealer charges 105$. I take more care and time on the work, the dealer probably rushes it out to make volume. Getting the motor rebuilt is a completely different scheme, you are probably better off looking for another car in better shape cause it will get expensive, unless you really wanna hang onto the car for a long time and invested a lot into other parts of it.
