weird brake problem

Has anybody experienced this? Hard, high pedal with engine off. Pedal goes almost to the floor with engine on. New mc, no air, (pressure bled) servo working, (brakes bite and stop well. No vacuum leaks, (one-way valve is OK). Only problem is this long pedal travel and slightly spongey (no..."springy") feel when the servo is being operated by engine vacuum. No reason to suspect servo is defective as it's holding vacuum and is doing it's job.

You may have already found a problem, but it sounds like something is actually bending a little when you brake. Have you checked the caliper slides?

Check all your brake hose to the calipers. You might have one or two going soft and the rubber hose is acting like a baloon.

Did you manually bleed the hydraulic system after pressure bleeding it?
