I removed and replaced the J605 module on my Phaeton today, this is the slave controller that operates the trunk opening and closing mechanism on Phaetons that have the hydraulic servo operated trunk opening and closing feature.

I could not find any information in the existing Phaeton CD about this controller. No luck doing a search on the controller number (J605). Also, I think you should include adaptation instructions. When this controller is replaced, it needs to be adapted. This is a pretty simple process, but it is not documented.

Well it's been nine years since PanEuropean made his suggestion for revision. I don't want to sound impatient or unreasonable, but how about Bentley Publishers aiming for a reply within ten years? That way, we might hear by this time next year what, if anything, Bentley Publishers intends to do about PanEuropean's suggested edit to the Repair Manual. Is a "same decade reply" policy a reasonable policy goal for you guys?

I'm not sure exactly why there was never a response to this forum post originally. while we try and keep an eye on the forum, it is aimed as a place where you the end users can ask questions and help each other out with your technical questions. The main avenue for communication with us, including questions, comments and suggestions is our online support center. The user may have had his questions answered directly through the support center. The eBahn product he mentions contains all the information that was distributed to the dealers for the Phaeton, so if the exact information was not there, it was likely never provided directly from VW.
