I just would like to ask you for some valuable advise regarding an unrest feeling I have with my Jetta 2002 2.0L manual. As far as I understood before to buy it, it's a 115 HP vehicle, and there is no doubt about, but in specific, the acceleration is too dull and weak that I feel unhappy with my acquisition. It seems that the time the engine needs to ask for the next speed level is too long, so, I'd like to ask your kind comment in order to modify this matter without full system damage. Is there any way to gain horse power acceleration? some people talk about chips, other about air flow filters.... maybe there is a failure on the mass air flow sensor... I don't know.... could you please comment about the best way to improve its performance?

I'll be attending to your kind response.

Thank you and best regards.

Good Evening, Victor,

I know that in the USA/Canada we get different systems that you do in
Mexico, even though our Jettas are made in Mexico. If the car is very =new,
I would give it several thousand miles to "break-in", perhaps as many =as
6000 or 7000 miles. If you car has knock sensors (and it probably =does),
use the best octane PEMEX gasoline that you can. Here on the east =coast of
the USA, 93 and 94 AKI is readily available, and it can make a =substantial
difference in the way that 2.0 liter runs. While the stock 2.0 liter =engine
is not a racer, it should give decent performance. If you still think =that
you have a problem, the VW Dealers in Torreón (Autocentro Torreón =and Autos
Nazas) must surely be able to help you. You must still have warranty
coverage available.

I tend to stay away from chips and modifications, especially when the =car is
new and covered by a warranty. Perhaps others who read this board will =be
able to add to the discussion. Hope this helps you.
