Okay...we replaced the fuel pump on our quantum....when we got it out, we had to clean the whole tank out and scrub the metal filter/screen that holds the pump in place. we were able to find the part and bought a back up, but ended up not using it as it wasn't that part that left the disintegrated black tarry substance in the tank...it was something we couldn't find? so my return question is it this metal screen that is cup shaped that you are referring to...if not give me a really clear description of the part and or try looking on thesamba.com they have everything VW, things you can't find anywhere...even quantum gls and synchros to buy....best of luck....
