I absolutely love my 93 Golf III, but the front seat is killing my back (SERIOUSLY)...I drive 500 miles from Monday to Friday. Does anyone know of an affordable kit to rebuild the seat? Someone seriously damaged the seat before I bought it. The bottom side wings are broken and something doesn't seem right with the back, either. No amount or configuration of pillows work, either. HELP!
The 'affordable kit to rebuild the seat' is going to be at your local junk yard. Should be $20-40, more if the yard has to pull the seat.
I have a bad back, am 6'3" and can drive my wife's GolfIII for hundreds of miles without pain... though I much prefer my Taurus 6-way because of the extra adjustments and thigh support.
Absolutely the best seat I've ever used was on our '90 Camry, the optional, manually adjustable seat that Camry designed in conjunction with a couple of orthopedic surgeons. I doubt that there's a way to get one of these into the Golf, however, since the seat track is plain flat-out strange on the Golf.
