Hi all. This is Geoff from Cape Town, South Africa.

I have a 1995 Audi A6 which is reporting error 8.5 from the air
conditioning control unit, which says that the temperature control
flap is stuck. This would make sense, because the heater does not
work, and the aircon throws out the same temperature air all the
time.

The book says remove the windscreen wiper unit, then remove the
flap. Looking under the hood it does not look as simple as this.
Does anybody have experience with this device??

Yes, it is that easy. That's one of the easiest heater flaps to access.

Hi Geoff.
I Have the same problem, in my 1994 A6.
Is yours repaired?
Was it hard? I do not have a repair manual.
If anyone have some triks, they are very welkome to send me a mail, on knissen@tdcadsl.dk drawings and pictures are especially welkome. It is very very cold in Denmark now, so I relly need some heat ;-)

Guys,
Whilst driving home yesterday I noticed a big difference in air temps coming out of the dashboard. Drivers side was warm and the passengers side was noticeably cooler. Changing the zone temps to LO did not lower my side temp. Any thoughts?
