99 EVC radiator efficiency

Hello List,
driving in 95F local traffic, I noticed the cooling fans come on at moderate speed of 30 to 40 mph and run for a while after parking. It appears to be quite a bit more frequent than I remember before the van's 2 year hipernation.
I also noticed during recent repair that the radiator drained slowly, I flushed a few times, but water from a garden hose exits slowly and overflows. I did not find any debris in the drained/flushed liquid. At his time the temp regulation still works fine, just wondering if something may be setting up?
Any indication how much water/min should be running through freely? Any cleaning/de-clogging tips?

thanks again for your help,
Wolfgang (enjoyed a great camping trip and excursions this spring - after help from this list - thanks!)

It could be a radiator clog. I've had them clog on Vanagons when someone had mixed G11 and other coolant, and I've heard the same can happen with G12 and non-G12. It made a big difference when I replaced the Vanagon radiators.

If it runs hot due to a radiator clog, it will usually cool off if you turn on the heater full blast. (which isn't comfortable, but can keep you moving!)

My 99 EVC runs in a similar manner. In fact, I usually have the fans running after shut off even when the outside temp is in the 50's and I've just run 9 or 10 miles.

Despite that, the temp needle has never budged over mid-way even when pulling a loaded utility trailer in 100 degree plus temps up hills. So I consider the fan running as normal.

Have you tried the Evans waterless cooling liquid? the tests so far seems good.
