I am working on a 1992 100s 2.8l (FWD, AT). Someone has cut the cooling fan wiring and installed a toggle switch. I'd like to replace everything the best that I can back to stock and diagnose/fix the original issue, whatever that was.

I have noticed that the coolant temp gauge works, but not well. It only goes up a little ways and that's it. It actually overheated on me in stop-n-go traffic because I was watching the gauge w/o the toggle switch turned on. I won't make that mistake again!

Does someone have a copy of the wiring diagram that will help me figure out how to rewire this mess? I know about the resistor pack under the LF and can see where the wires were cut there but I want to make sure that everything is right so i can start troubleshooting the sensors and relays.

Hi,
I can't help with wiring diagrams but strongly suggest once you get that sorted that you replace the water pump and thermostat which are behind the timing belt.
Once that is done, check the connections, including ground, to the circuit board underneath front wheel arch. I went through all the switch/relay troubleshooting for 3 years and the fans never worked as they should until I cleaned the connections and everything was ok again.
Good luck.
Cheers, William
