There are two cabin microfilters. They are located in the engine compartment at the firewall. Mounted under two small lids. Hope this helps.

This system appears much simpler than my E36 which involves removing the glove compartment, passenger side footwell cover and awkward manouevering around wiring harnesses in very inaccessible area(takes nearly an hour).
