1987 E28
There is combustion only when I spray ether into the air intake. The car then stops as soon as all the ether is burned.
The fuel pumps work. I can get fuel to the rail. Not sure the pressure tho but its a strong enuf stream for that to not be the prob.
I'm convinced that there is no electricity to the injectors. How do I test those and work backward?

You should have power at one wire of each injector all the time with the key on. The ground is switch by the DMW based on inputs. Check power first then check for a pulsed ground when cranking. Do you have the Bentley manual? You will need to look at the wiring if no power. If no ground (and +batt. volts are present), could likely be the DME? If you have ignition, then the crank sensor input is good.

you don't say WHICH e28. the 528s have a connector under the intake that gets wet from the heated connection on the throttle body. that connector contains the injector wiring. and i did have to replace an ecu on an 87 because it only fired 3 of the 6 injectors. good luck, chuck.
