P0011 code,(camshaft position actuator A-Bank 1. Timing over-advance per Actron diagnostic tool) has appeared a number of times. Engine runs fine and has 110,00 miles. After reset, can go for hundreds of miles, but Check Engine Light comes on when driven about 1 mile, turned off and then turned back on. One dealer said it could be a camshaft chain tensioner problem. There is an actuator/sensor mounted on the front of the valve head assembly. He said it cannot be removed for inspection or cleaning without removing an internal nut. Is this true? This intermittent condition seems to suggest an actuator/sensor problem.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks for your prompt reply. The realoem site seems to show the actuator screws out. I'll investigate further as I would like to swap the left and right actuators ( SOLV pn 11367524489) to see if the code moves from Bank 1 to Bank 2. If it does, I can replace the SOLV. Thanks again.
