I have a 2002 passat that showed the airbag fault indicator on the dash. I ran a vag-com test and it showed fault: "01222 - crash sensor side airbag: passenger side (G180) 37-00 - faulty". Anyone have a clue where this sensor is located, and how to replace it? By the way, I clear the default code, and it came right back, so I assume it's legitimate.

I want to say its on the pass. floor, under the carpet, but I'm not 100%. Do you have a problem with the carpet getting wet? If so, get that taken care of before it needs a couple computers.

It's on the frame rail behind where the bumper attaches (behind the lock carrier).

This link if for a cabrio... but I can't see it being too different from a Passat.
